I’m sick of trying to please people. In the midst of the volume of voices that surround, it’s the gentle whisper of Jesus that I want to follow. No other person, no other denomination, no other particular theology. Just the way of Jesus…

And Jesus was slandered for associating with “sinners”, yet He kept going in that narrow road. He was abused, mistreated and laughed at when He said He was the Son of God, but He knew His purpose and His calling…and kept going.

So for the the abused, the mistreated, the bruised and the broken, don’t let the lone voices drown out the whispers of God. Refuse to be broken by the negative, faithless cries. Instead, hear these words of Jesus today and keep going:

“Blessed are the peacemakers for they can be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
Jesus in Matthew 5:9-12
